NURSERY

Psalm 8:2a "From the lips of children and infants you have
ordained praise."
The goal of our nursery
is to provide a safe, clean, loving, fun, and comfortable environment for
both you and your child. To accomplish this our workers will walk,
rock, read, feed, and play with the children to insure that they are
content.
NURSERY STAFF

All the children in our nursery are cared for by adults who have had
back ground checks and completed our Child Protection Policy Training.
Our nursery staff is well trained and dedicated in giving care and
nurture to your child. The staff at First United Methodist Church
consists of 5 ladies who come well qualified. Mrs. Mildred
Malone is our Nursery Supervisor
she worked at Riverchase
United Methodist Church in Birmingham for 12 ½ years as Nursery
Director. When she and her husband moved to Decatur she had planned on
retiring but missed the children. Mrs. Malone has worked here for 7
1/2 years. She is very happy to be here and loves all of the children.
Our
Assistant Nursery Supervisor is Miss Jade Reardon. Jade has
faithfully worked in our nursery since February 2005. She has a B.S.
Degree from Auburn University in Human Development and Family Studies
with a major in Early Childhood Development. She is currently employed
at Redstone Federal Credit Union.
Ms. Gail Elledge
is employed full time at Dental Associates, Mrs. Sandy Collins
who was employed at First Baptist Preschool, Mrs. Lynn Thompson
who has had years of working with children. Mrs. Dot Jarvis who
is a retried school teacher, and Ms. Danielle Harris who is a
registered nurse.
We are very fortunate to have such a
dedicated and conscientious nursery staff. They work very hard to
provide a safe,
friendly, fun, and loving environment for our nursery age children.

NURSERY HOURS
The nursery is open every Sunday for worship services and Sunday
School, Wednesday evenings during First Fellowship, and for special
church events as announced. Located on the first floor outside the
Fellowship Hall on the North side of the church building, the
nursery rooms are open 15 minutes before an event and remain open
for the duration of the activity.

We hope you feel confident that your little one will
receive loving care and understanding. Ask us about any of our
policies and procedures. We are happy to answer your questions. If
you have any questions, problems or suggestions, please feel free to
contact Ann Crabbe,
Children's Director.
