Dr. Terry L. Greer - Senior Pastor
Dr. Terry Greer is a native of East Tennessee, and served in the U.S. Army for nine years before entering Athens State College. He later earned his Master of Divinity degree from Candler School of Theology at Emory University in Atlanta and his Doctor of Ministry degree from the Theological School of Drew University in Madison, New Jersey.
Terry served from 1997 until 2004 as pastor of Christ Central United Methodist Church in Rainbow City. He served as the chairperson of the North Alabama Conference (NAC) Board of Evangelism for eight years and as assistant secretary of the NAC for twelve years. He is currently serving as Chairperson for the NAC Board of Pensions and Committee on Nominations. He is an Advisory Trustee with the Board of The Foundation for Evangelism at Lake Junaluska, North Carolina. In 1999, Terry was awarded the Gadsden District Evangelism Award and the NAC Denman Evangelism Award. In 1998, his peers named him Gadsden District Pastor of the Year.
Terry has been active in the Kiwanis Club since 1978 and served as president of the Scottsboro club in 1989. He is an active member of the Decatur Rotary Club. In September 2005 Dr. Greer was awarded the honor of a Rotary Paul Harris Fellowship given by the 39 active members of First United Methodist Church who are also Rotarians.
Terry's wife, the former Lisa Eidson of Scottsboro, is a Birmingham-Southern graduate who teaches second grade in the Decatur City School System. They have one daughter, Suzanna Faith Greer. Suzanna is a middle school student and loves taking dance. |

Rev. Ian Butler - Associate Pastor
Rev. Ian Butler, Associate Pastor, is a native of Florence, Alabama. He attended The University of North Alabama and Asbury College in Wilmore, Kentucky. He graduated from Asbury College in December 2004 with a degree in Bible and Theology. He is currently a seminarian enrolled in The Theological School of Memphis Seminary in Memphis, Tennessee. Ian has most recently pastored the Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church in the Florence area.
Ian is married to Laura who is a graduate of The University of North Alabama. Laura is a Spanish Teacher and teaches at Oak Park Middle School in Decatur. |

Lisa Charlton - Director of Program and Nurture Ministries
Lisa has been an employee of FUMC since 1990. She joined the staff as a part-time Children’s Director and later became a full time director of Family and Children’s Ministries. In 1996, Lisa became the Program Director.
Lisa has a B.B.A. in Business Administration from Middle Tennessee State University. |

Ann Crabbe - Director of Children's Ministries
Ann has been a long time member of FUMC, faithfully serving in the Chancel Choir, as a 5th grade Sunday school teacher, and as a teacher of Companions in Christ. She was hired as our Children’s Director in January 2004.
Ann attended Jacksonville State University and The University of North Alabama. She has recently completed the two-year Academy for Spiritual Formation and the Academy of Children’s Ministry. She currently attends the Children's Pastor Conference and FOCUS 05 to stay informed on current trends in Children's Ministries. |

Beth Green - Director of Youth Ministries
Beth joined the church staff as Youth Director in August, 2003. She came to us from Trinity UMC in Birmingham where she had served as interim youth director, while teaching at Vestavia Hills Elementary, Liberty Park.
Beth completed her B.S. in Early Childhood Education from Auburn University. She also obtained a Master of Arts in Early Childhood Education from The University of Alabama
in Birmingham. |

Cindy McCulloch - Financial Secretary
Cindy McCulloch joined the church staff in April, 2007. Cindy has four years experience in church accounting and also owned her own business for ten years.
Cindy attended Calhoun Community College.

Carol Barker - Administrative Assistant to the Senior Pastor
Carol Barker is the Administrative Assistant to the Senior Pastor. In addition to assisting the Senior Pastor, she will be providing support to the program staff. Carol joined the staff December 1, 2005.
Carol is a graduate of the University of North Alabama with a B. S. in Business Administration. |

Alyson Quinn - Church Secretary
Alyson has been an employee of the church for a little over four years. In addition to secretarial duties, Alyson also prepares our newsletter, Sunday bulletin, and church information brochures.
Alyson obtained her B. A. from Athens State College with a double major in English and Psychology. |

Charles Elliot - Custodian/Maintenance
Charlie has been an employee of FUMC for six years. Responsible for setting up for meetings and church activities, Charlie also maintains and cleans our church properties. |

Melissa Wiley - Housekeeper
Melissa joined our staff on October 1, 2004. She is responsible for the general cleaning of the church. |

Jimmy Cantrell - Adult Choir Director
Jimmy has been with FUMC for 32 years as of October 15, 2004. Jimmy directs our Adult Chancel choir that sings at our 11:00 worship service on Sunday mornings.

Jo Alfano - Children's Choir Director
Jo has worked with our children’s choir for eight years, practicing with the choir on Wednesday nights and coordinating their performances for worship services and our Christmas fellowship supper.
Joe completed her B.A. in Early Childhood Education from Birmingham Southern College and obtained an M.A. in Early Childhood Education from The University of Alabama in Birmingham. |

Debbie Looney - Children's Choir Director
Debbie has worked with the children’s choir on a volunteer basis for several years and joined the staff as a director in January of 2005. She also practices with the choir on Wednesday nights and coordinates their performances for worship services and our Christmas fellowship supper.

Gail Warth - Church Organist
Gail has served FUMC faithfully for 27 years as our church organist. She plays for both the 8:45 and 11:00 services, as well as playing for weddings and funerals.
Gail obtained a B.A. in Music from Birmingham Southern College with a major in piano and minors in voice and organ. |

Kim Bell - Church Pianist
Kim joined the FUMC staff one year ago and is our pianist for the 11:00 worship service and other special services.
Kim obtained a B.S. in Mathematics and Computer Science from The University of North Alabama and an M.S. in Probability and Statistics from Auburn University. |

Frank Moore - Sound Technician
Frank has been in charge of keeping our sound system in good working order since 1998. In addition to setting up and controlling the sound system during the 8:45 a.m. service,
Frank also supports the First Worship team with their audio needs, as well as setting up the sound system for other church events.
Frank attended Calhoun Community College and Auburn University.
